Some might say they love a calm relaxing breakfast to start the day or they’d rather not spending one hour waiting to be seated just to eat eggs and bacon. Well, well, well… I used to agree with this before I met Pasti’s.
This small restaurant in the Meatpacking District is 100% NY. Some might say that after “Sex and the City” and celebrity visits this noisy restaurant is now overrated and I don’t doubt some exagerated saying Pasti’s is the best place they ever had a breakfast. Pasti’s never meant to be the best, Pasti’s is only Pasti’s and doesn’t want to be more than this.
The place is all NY, but noone can say the service is bad, in fact waiters and waitresses are actually very polite for a NY standard. Food is not heaven, but Balthazar “home-made” breads make their point until getting a nice egg combination. Go there on sunday, specially if it’s sunny.
Book a table and don’t be late. Serious: you may have to wait for an hour if you don’t do so. Got late and want to come back later? Don’t. Pasti’s is worth it.
How to get there: Subway, Metro, Subte, etc. (it’s NY!)
Pasti’s, 9 – 9th. Avenue
